7/8`` cable connectors with 2,5 mm² cross section capacity

For the power supply of Fieldbus and Ethernet network structures in the area of IP 67 applications more and more 5 pole 7/8`` connector systems are being used. If the network is wide spread it is desirable to minimize voltage losses by using wires with a bigger cross section. Until now it hadn’t been possible to connect existing 2,5 mm² wirings to these connectors.
By using screw clamp contacts with a bigger terminal cross section this is now feasible. In that way now also 14 mm diameter cables can be connected to straight cable connectors and 12 mm cables can be connected to angled cable connectors to every available pole number.
This has become necessary because the cable diameters tend to become bigger due to the UL requirements or in the field of chain flex applications.
